Sara Price officially completed her first ever SCORE International BAJA 500

LAKE ELSINORE, California (June 8, 2018) – Multiple Time Offroad Champion Sara Price officially completed her first ever SCORE International BAJA 500. Sara and Navigator Erica Sacks crossed the finish line with an impressive 5th place, completing all 542 miles together as a team in 14 hours and 47 minutes and collected valuable championship points toward Price’s full-season SCORE International campaign. This year’s 50th BAJA is said to be the thoughest course to date.

Starting 9th, the duo drove themselves up to be the 2nd Trophy Truck Spec. Physically in class at RM115. They then battled fuel pump issues and a lack of lights at night due to some damage from a collision in the silt bed at Race Mile 45. Thankfully, the phenomenal team of RPM Offroad and Geiser Brothers behind #204 managed to fix the truck and allowed Price to race the remaining miles of the course without anymore problems.

‘’The feeling of completing our very first BAJA 500 amongst the Top 5 is nothing less than amazing! I couldn’t of felt more comfortable in our RPM Offroad TT Spec. Truck, thanks to Geiser Bros for building such an incredible machine. We drove a smart and clean race and proved we can run up front. I’m really looking forward to the Desert Challenge!’’ said Price.

The competition this weekend followed an intensive pre-running agenda that saw Price joining her RPM Offroad teamates to cover over a 1000 miles before start of the Race.

Since 2006, Team RPM has collected championships and race wins in series including SCORE and Best in the Desert. Team principals Clyde Stacy and Matney have captured 11 SCORE season class point titles between them as key drivers.

The team scored an historic win in 2017 at the 50th anniversary Baja 1000 with Mexican driver Carlos “Apdaly” Lopez. He also won the SCORE International Trophy Truck championship in 2015 and 2016. The team earned their first Baja 1000 Class 1 victory in 2014.

The Golden Anniversary celebration of the 50th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE BAJA 500 and round 2 of the four-race 2018 SCORE World Desert Championship was held May 30th to June 3rd in Mexico’s Baja California, starting and finishing in Ensenada, the seaside port on the Pacific Ocean, 80 miles south of San Diego. This year’s course was designed and finalized by SCORE Race Director Jose A. Grijalva and was an astounding race record of 542.12 miles. The event gathered over 200 000 race fans spread along the entire lenght of the grueling race course.

Price is set to race the full SCORE International season with Team RPM this season in Trophy Truck Spec, a regulated class that showcases driver talent above all else. Class vehicles are equally matched, with rules specifying engine, suspension and wheel and tire size.

Price will also add competition dates to her schedule as opportunities arise. She opened the season at King of the Hammers in the UTV category. Her adventures all season will be extensively documented on her social channels.

In 2017, Price’s calendar included a diverse array of events including a select series of off-road races for RPM Offroad in Trophy Truck Spec class in the Best In The Desert series, with a best finish of sixth. She also won the Next Female Hoonigan contest to earn a chance to drive a factory backed Fiat Rally Car in a pair of hill climbs, seizing second-place result at the San Pedro Martir Hill Climb in Mexico.
