Sara Price to Compete in Dubai International Baja as Part of Dakar Rally Preparations

Mohave Valley, AZ [November 28, 2024] – Fresh off announcing her return to compete in Dakar Rally, Sara Price is gearing up to tackle the Dubai International Baja from November 28 to December 1. Price will race under the esteemed South Racing Can-Am banner, teaming up with experienced navigator and 2020 Dakar Rally winner Sean Berriman in a Can-Am Maverick R in the SSV class as part of her preparation for this upcoming Dakar Rally.
 
This year’s Dubai International Baja, the 8th edition in its current format, celebrates an incredible 45 years since its inception as the Dubai Rally in 1979. As one of the oldest and most prestigious motorsport events in the UAE and the region, it offers a perfect mix of challenging terrain and technical complexity, making it an ideal testing ground for Dakar competitors.
 
This has been a landmark year for me,” said Sara Price. “Winning Stage 10 at Dakar was a dream come true, and to make history as the first American woman to achieve that is a moment I’ll always cherish. Now, I’m focused on continuing that momentum in Dubai and onto Dakar this January. Racing in such a historic event with Sean Berriman and South Racing by my side is an honour, and we’re ready to give it everything we’ve got.
 
Price’s participation in Dubai underscores her commitment to honing her skills and strategies as she continues to compete at the highest level of rally-raid racing. The demanding desert landscapes of the UAE will provide a critical opportunity for the team to test and refine their performance in preparation for the challenges ahead.
 

About Sara Price

Sara Price, owner of SP Motorsports, began racing dirt bikes at age eight, winning 19 amateur titles and medaling at the 2010 X-Games. As the most decorated female amateur in motocross, she became the first factory-supported female racer with Monster Energy Kawasaki. In 2012, she transitioned to UTV racing, claiming the Women’s Championship in the Terracross undefeated in every round of the Series and campaigning multiple disciplines as a driver and also leading laps in the Stadium SUPER Truck Series as the first woman to do so.
 
In 2019, Sara made history IronWomaning the infamous Baja 1000 and becoming the first woman to win the SCORE International Trophy Truck Spec Championship. She joined Chip Ganassi Racing’s Extreme-E team in 2021, adding another major win to her resume. In 2023, she dominated in her Can-Am with victories at the Mint400, California 300, Baja 500, Sonora Rally winning the Road to Dakar, and the Triple Crown Championship. Her dream to compete in the toughest race in the world The Dakar Rally came true in 2024, where she became the first American female to win a stage and the Rookie Award, finishing fourth in SSV Category.

Beyond Off-Road racing, Sara is also a stunt professional a part of the SAG-AFTRA for films like Jumanji: The Next Level and commercials seen worldwide, and now races powerboats with Will Smith’s Westbrook Racing team in the E1 Series, securing their first win at the Lake Como GP.
